Our Mission
Distinctively Remembered is a Texas based service provider of person-centered rehabilitation programs and vocational projects that make a difference and impact the lives of underserved populations in Texas communities. These groups include military veterans, persons with disabilities and their caregivers, transitional youth, the elderly, and reentry persons.
We believe that everyone has a distinctive purpose and distinctive talents that should be remembered. We can help connect people to the resources necessary to realize and achieve their distinctive purpose. Whether it is through our organization being the host of community events, leadership training, performing community outreach, employment placement services, or college readiness tours, we help to make a difference.
We believe that when people have the “know-how”, training, connections, resources, and assistance to be better, we can ALL are better as a community and as a whole. Our organization's functions on the principle that all resources must be integrated so that they can be combined to solve community and individual concerns on the road to self sufficiency.
Our organizational collaborations and partnerships were created to achieve a particular aim. That aim and goal is to distribute the resources, knowledge, and assistance that marginalized groups need in order to thrive in their communities.
With over 35 years of combined experience in the community, our aim is to focus on self-sufficiency and work in the areas of greatest need, we service the most undeserving areas of Texas including San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Dallas.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING
Obstacles into Opportunities
Successfully we have assisted persons with challenges, barriers and/or disabilities with obtaining viable employment and careers. Helping to live self-sufficiently in their communities. We provide employment services and placement to eligible job seeking adults and youth. We help to provide a variety of services including career guidance, counseling, job search, interview skills training, independent living skills, on the job training, employment preparation and assistive technology amongst other services.
Ideas into Real Life
We offer entrepreneurs entrepreneurship training and mentorship program, as well as a series of leadership business and entrepreneurship development and planning workshops that include hands-on entrepreneurial and virtual extensive focus programs that also teach important life skills - these skills include problem-solving and teamwork, empathy, as well as learning to accept failure as part of the growth process. These foundational learning experiences for youth and adults allow the practice and help to build 21st-century mindsets and skills. Our programs allow youth to apply STEM ideas in real-world situations. All training help to support and strengthen social and emotional development and wellness.

Success Dress and Uniforms
We initiate workforce development training and teaching styles to meet the goals and needs of individuals and company partnerships with a focus on the needs of both. We schedule face-to-face training sessions, conference call training, group training, and self-directed technology based training. Individuals also are presented with internship apprenticeships opportunities. Includes CNC operation, CPR, healthcare/CPR, and construction careers. This program is critical in assisting men and women in obtaining middle-skilled occupations that would allow them to support themselves and their families in the long run
We help to give access to community clothing closet. Efforts to prospective workers and caregivers to clothing and resources that can aid them in dressing properly for work and interviews.
COLLEGE READINESS FAIRS AND COLLEGIATE ATHLETE INFO SESSIONS
Our college fairs are aimed at increasing the number of minorities and persons with disabilities access to college. College fairs, expos, and retreats include workshops on how to prepare and pay for college, information on requirements for admission, accommodation requests, and application processes. Representatives come from colleges to offer one on one and face-to-face communication. These events aim to bolster college access and graduation rates among underserved students in the surrounding communities. Colleges benefit from the exposure of these events. Additionally our college athlete fairs and virtual events are pinnacle. High School athletes and college players are offered the chance to touch bases with dozens of potential schools, colleges and universities all at once. Students are able to meet with recruiters, consider offers and the chance to ask questions. This is an expanded face-to-face and one-on-one experience and opportunity for colleges also to learn about a potential school and pre-college hopefuls. Unanswered questions and virtual tours are often coordinated on site.
